Mentor at Girls Rock! Sydney
Applications for mentoring at Girls Rock! Sydney are open!
The second Girls Rock! Sydney Camp for female, trans and gender-diverse youth aged 10-17 years will be held on 14 – 19th January 2019 at The Factory Theatre in Marrickville. Read about the camp program here.
At Girls Rock! Sydney we aim to champion diversity, so we encourage those of all backgrounds to apply, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, the LGBTQIA community, and those with differing abilities.
We are currently seeking mentors to fill various roles within the camp. The mentors we require are:
Instrument Instructors: Experienced musicians or educators for guitar, drums, vocals, bass guitar, or electronic music to teach campers their chosen instrument. Instrument Instructors will guide campers through their learning experience and encourage them throughout camp.
Band Coaches: Strong knowledge of gear and setup for live performances and experience playing music. Each Band Coach will be supported by a Band Manager, and will act as a supportive guide for campers in their allocated band with songwriting and performance. Band Coaches will also attend workshops with their allocated band.
Band Managers: Interest in music or experience as a musician. Each Band Manager will be supported by a Band Coach, and will act as an encouraging and positive force on campers by assisting their allocated band with teamwork, songwriting and performance. Band Managers will also attend workshops with their allocated band.
Instrument Instructors are welcome to also apply for a Band Coach or Manager role.
